I have more than understanding and compassion for stuff like this, Christine!
Wonderful custom work on Odin and Brunhilde! I customized a few dolls and did couple of full reroots (hair work), so I know!
I have 3 Loki figures, 1 original Hot Toy guy in Marvel outfit, one on which I repainted only the hair and one full remake I still work on.

(actually BJD stands for Ball-Jointed Doll. Unless you were making a joke that just completely went over my head?)

And yeah, I love that one too (first time I saw it, although it was a different pic than DarkAmber posted, I actually legit thought it was an actual person in costume). There's also [url=a version of it in a "
modern"
setting with floofy hair][/url] (note: page is in Russian). Didn't care too much for the floof-hair at first but it grew on me and I really love it now.

Oh! I didn't know that! I was told it stood for Big Japanese Doll. LOL!

Christine: That statue (dolls?) of Odin and Brunhilde is gorgeous.

Rose: Love the job you've done with the doll!

I love the series with the modern BJD Loki, too.
It's funny, he takes selfies and puts them on his Facebook page, and then he watches Avengers. LOL!

Madame B is great artist I love her Loki, and her other work, also her watercolors
I don't know how to post image which is not mine, so here are the links:

BJD dolls are big, about twice much than one I have, many are very beautiful and fabulous when customized.
Good info about them is in Den of Angels

It isn't Marvel Loki, it's the same BJD with different hair.

Seriously though...holy crap I didn't know people could make a life-sized BJD!

And now I'm suddenly reminded of Futurama and the downloadable celebrity robots. Laughing "
Nah...I'd rather stay home and make out with my Monroebot."

That BJD was what inspired me to get a doll customised for my altar, instead of trying to find a figurine that didn't quite resonate with me. I'm slowly making him clothes as one of my devotional crafts Smile

And that doll's not life-sized, by the way, just really really detailed. I believe they've made a Sigyn too.

Yeah, I saw a pic once where that doll was being positioned in the snow and it looked to be maybe about 15-18 inches tall, iirc.

(Which means that all the little details/furniture/accessories in the modern version's "
apartment"
are also miniaturised...!)

Omigosh I love love LOVE that Madame B BJD Loki also. I was so enamored with it and thought it was for purchase, imagine my disappointment that it is only custom.
When I found I could not buy it, Loki was okay with me getting the Hot Toys Avenger Loki figure that I had been eyeballing for a long time. I could not imagine trying to customize it though, I had a terrible time with the helmet and the hands and I'm terrified of breaking it. I will touch it and change its pose from time to time though.

I'd love to have that Loki doll! The BJD or the Marvel Loki doll. Either one would make me happy. I would have a hard time customizing it if I did though. I like the Marvel Loki for his own sake. Drama queen that he is.

Ahahahaha yes!! I like to think RealLoki enjoys the ComicCon stunt, that performance to me is more like Him. And "
The Dark World"
did give him (the character) a deeper feel. Who didn't melt at "
trust my rage"
? That was like the Real Thing. *heart* And you know what? It took all three movies, the ComicCon and Comedy Central promos, and a good bit of time to absorb it all to really go, "
this is a Guy I want to know for real."

But yes, drama-queen ... I feel like He and I share a grin when I look at the Hot Toys statue. It's like a flamboyant side, like ... Rumpelstilkskin from "
Once Upon a Time."
"
All magic has a price, dearie."

Ack I'm derailing...

In the General section I made a subforum for fangirling over whatever people want to fan spaz over. In most cases, HiddleLoki. But yeah. The HiddleLoki is hot. It can't be helped. And yeah...so is Thor too. Although he's really little more than a slab of meat with a hammer. >

Ah, someone finally said it! I kinda likened Him to Rumple a little bit as well! And am I the only one on here who is kinda creeped out by dolls?

Did anybody see the guy who plays Rumple in movie Ravenous? He was fantastic! (better cannibal than Lecter)
And funny in The Full Monty movie. I'm bad with names, forgot his name.

Christine! I thought you use Marvel Hot Toys Loki as your blind pull charm! Ha I misunderstood!

Ah hell nah! I certainly wouldn't use him for a blinds pull if I had him. No, I have a Thor and Loki action figure. I got them for like 10 bucks on amazon. I think I took a picture of them dangling from the blinds somewhere.

OK, I was bit surprised, they would be big size pulls for one thing, action figures do much better! Hot Toys are sturdy, but I would test it beyond the limit.
