My Loki art

Post by Corannhena on Sat Jan 17, 2015 5:53 am

I'll post the last two I've done, first one was before he confirmed to me that he doesn't have pupils in his eyes and that his ears are apparently actually not pointed, so... yeah.

(and yes, he is wearing pants, they're just a really light beige color)

Next one is the full version of the image in my icon, he actually requested a lot of stuff wrt this one (yellow tunic, freckles, and he insisted I draw his scars. They're kind of hard to see, but they're there).

I'll probably do another one sometime soon-ish, he was nudging at me to draw him again a couple of weeks ago but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

These are great! Love the hair. Love the lopsided smile/smirk in the first one. That lopsided smile became sort of His trademark when He visited me in dreams.

O.o Your first drawing is very similar to how He appeared to me. Minus braids, though.

Ah this reminds me so much of the gentle Redlance from "
ElfQuest."

Very adorable.

AAAH I LOVE ELFQUEST OMG Very Happy

no but seriously when I was in high school the first three book "
collections"
were in the library and I checked them out CONSTANTLY. Book 3 (Blue Mountain) had some pages missing, though :/

I keep meaning to get them again but I keep putting it off. I do have a "
novelisation"
of EQ volume 1, though (the journey to Sorrow's End. I've only read it once, though. But from what I remember, the dialogue is largely the same as the original comics.)

but yeah Loki totally has Redlance hair :p Although his hair in my drawings is supposed to look (kind of) like that one ball-jointed doll that I see on Tumblr sometimes. IDK if you've seen it, though. I've mentioned it somewhere here before, but there's a "
modern"
version with shorter, "
floofy"
hair, I wanna see if I can draw him with floof-hair :p

When I could see Him, He always had perfect hair. (Even when it should be messy. :;
): ) Just past the shoulders, loose curls, deep red. Breathtaking.

Yes, yes! I've seen that doll (both versions). I am so in love with it.
Ahhhh you've totally got to catch up! Did you know there is a new series, called "
Final Quest"
? I think I have every book except for those. I'm kinda waiting for them all to be out. http://www.darkhorse.com/Search/The+Final+Quest

WIP of Loki in modern clothes (he's indicated he likes it a lot):

(why yes that is the Fall Out Boy logo on his shirt)

edit: Inked/pencil erased:

Trying to decide if I want to color it in GIMP (after scanning it) or just with colored pencils. Coloring in GIMP would look better but would be more complicated.

Thanks~ I'll have to get it scanned later--my laptop isn't hooked up to/doesn't have the software installed for our scanner (and idk where said software is) so I'll have to have my mom scan it and email it to me later so I can get it colored in GIMP.

(After I do that I wonder if I should make it available as a print for sale on DA? Dunno if it's good enough for that, though. Also the Fall Out Boy logo might be a problem, but I can easily erase that [or have two versions, one with, one without].)

It looks great!
For print DA tells you if it is good enough, they go by size and compression. Have it scanned with 300 dpi resolution and keep that resolution set in program you use. I don't know GIMP but 300 dpi is resolution common for print and 72 for web posting.

I really like this one. Plus the artistic style is similar to my son's drawings. Smile

Well. My mom hasn't been on her computer in months (she usually just goes online on her Kindle), and I was tired of waiting for her to go on there so I could ask her to scan it, so I ended up coloring that last drawing with colored pencils (and outlined in marker):

The tattoos were sort of a last-minute addition;
the thought of adding them basically "
came to me"
and Loki seemed quite enthusiastic when I asked if he wanted some. Turned out, he'd put the idea for them in my head, he confirmed later :p

Sigyn's asked for a drawing of herself, as well, but I haven't gotten around to doing that yet :/ But I will probably draw her next.

Really nice job!
I support the idea of tattoos or some kind of bodily adornment also.
