If you read Heathen blogs, you might come across words or concepts that aren't explained, because the writer assumes the readers are familiar with these Heathen words.

Old English, meaning peace;
freedom from molestation, protection;
safety, security. In Old Norse it's "
If guests or hosts of a party are verbally or physically attacked, it breaks frith. A flamewar in a Pagan/Heathen community is a breaking of frith.

Wyrd and Orlog
The concepts of wyrd and orlog are interconnected.
Orlog is the fate or rules we are given by the Norns. Orlog can't be changed. Orlog is things like, who our parents are, where we were born, talents, and being predisposed for certain illnesses.
Wyrd is the fate we weave ourselves.
It helps to think of a tapestry to understand wyrd and orlog. Orlog is the warp, the vertical threads that are permanent. Wyrd is the weft, the horisontal threads that we weave the picture with.
If we oath to someone, we bind our wyrd with theirs.

Gebo means a gift for a gift. It's about reciprocity and balance. It is also a rune shaped like an X.
The rune Gebo means gifts, both in the sense of sacrifice and of generosity, indicating balance. All matters in relation to exchanges, including contracts, personal relationships and partnerships.
Gebo was very important to the Vikings.
