I don't think I'd be very happy in Valhalla either. I hate war and killing. Which makes me a bit confused as to why I ended up being an Odinspouse. *scratches head* Oh well? What happens when a peace/love/joy hippie falls in love with a soldier who fought in Vietnam? :?

I'm guilty of this also. I just jumped into the convo without even addressing the funeral. I guess I wasn't sure what to say. *hugs*

We just aren't that captivating in the same way as "

Most Dietsch I know wouldn't feel very happy in Valhalla- considering we're pretty pacifistic, the idea of being hacked to bits daily, reassembling ourselves at dusk and then feasting?

....We're cool with the feasting-part, but the rest? Sounds painful.

Ah well, I guess too I was thinking of all the Greek mythology and literature thrown at us, and we are taught hardly nothing of the history and lore of the North (no mention of the Eddas and Sagas), including all the immigrations and mingling of the European peoples. For Pete's sake, our days are named after the Norse gods, but are we taught that, no, lol. It's like the "
VIkings"
series is filling in for that missing history, especially if you go looking up historical details. Just yesterday I was discussing with my mom about Normandy, how it was named after the "
Northmen."
(she's a fan, too)
I vaguely remember studying Beowulf in high school but I don't remember much, and certainly not any in-depth focus on how it retained Germanic folklore in a post-conversion time.
My introduction to Norse gods was Marvel. And that's sad.

No worries! I need no condolences for an ancient great aunt who I had not seen in 20+ years! She was suffering and her passing was a blessing at her age!

The difficult thing was performing "
Braucherie duty"
with no official training except for random family-snippets of traditions, spending time with local Urglaawe, and book learning. This experience,thankfully, lead me to getting a much more "
stable"
education in this direction.

Otherwise, I'm just a Gythia of a tiny tribe in the middle of Berks County, Pa.

Sometimes, things are puzzles, sometimes "
tests"
, and sometimes initiations regarding our patron Gods.... but we don't usually get "
spoilers"
until AFTER we accomplished the insane and impossible! Smile

So it would seem! And again I have to ask: Why do we suffer ourselves to be put to the test by the gods in ways that we would never tolerate from human beings? [nor should we!] If a human being put us through some of the stuff the gods do, it would be considered borderline or outright abuse in this day and age.

I'm frustrated, agitated, irritated and just down right pissed over things I'm going through as an Odin devotee and spouse. And all of it just weeks before my big move

I have wrote quite a bit about Loki (and others as well) in three different places on the internet, other than Facebook I write less there:
WordPress: [url:1kj7bmqj]https:
//earthstarlove.
wordpress.
com/[/url:1kj7bmqj]
Tumblr: [url:1kj7bmqj]http:
//yourearthstar.
tumblr.
com/[/url:1kj7bmqj]
And, I doubt anyone has this, but I mainly post everything "
Sacred"
within my LiveJournal (at LiveJournal.com-I keep everything underneath a "
tight lock"
on LiveJournal, so everything is pretty much there): [url:1kj7bmqj]http:
//isa-bel-la.
livejournal.
com/[/url:1kj7bmqj]

You can add my links up there if anyone is curious.

Well, I'm not very active and I've really just started to be more open about my Lokean self, but I'd like to share my blog anyway (it's also my writing blog). I'll try to be more active starting now though.
