Fire mountain gems and beads is my favourite shop to buy bead and such from to make jewellery:

They also have Viking knit wire weaving tools:

Thanks for posting these. Perhaps after I get moved back up to PA I'll have a chance to buy some crafting supplies and keep my self busy with them.

I thought it was funny on Beth's blog post about "
ask me anything,"
she said not to ask her about her suppliers.
I disagree with that, as I don't mind sharing my bookmarks.
We can order from the same companies and turn out completely different products I'm sure.
I'd rather that people learn about the ingredients and the processes. Even if you don't make things yourself, it can make you a smarter shopper.
Companies use the term "
natural"
and "
aromatherapy"
too loosely nowadays. I am a definite label-reader.
I don't have to know where Beth shops to make similar stuff. The only thing I don't know is where she gets some of her jewelry stuff. Anybody that knows how to do an internet search can find what they need.

I suppose now that she's wholly dependent upon her home run business she has to be extra self protective. If I was running a home business I wouldn't share information like that either. If I was just farting around with it as a hobby I probably wouldn't care.
Once I get moved, I'm probably going to start making my own soaps and perhaps my own candles and incense. It's probably less expensive than jewelry but that way I can offer my products as rewards and incentives to encourage people to research and do book reports, essays or other articles in the lore/history sections of the forum. That and I'm just totally spoiled by Beth's products but can't afford to buy as much as I want.

*nods* I didn't mean to sound catty about it. lol
But I pretty much just gave you guys the list that I have and will be getting supplies from. *shrugs*
I like to encourage people to learn and research and explore.
The chances of us being copycats to each other is pretty slim. (whee the cat jokes are flying today)

Oh I wasn't offended or bothered in any way by what you said. I mean even if we all shared ideas it's not like a business killer. Beth and Nono work really well without being at each other's throats;
and they both make deity jewelry. Does Nono make incense and soaps?

I was really thinking about learning to make soaps and jewelry, etc but I'm terrible about competition. I'm tragically competitive inwardly, but outwardly I'm very timid about competing. At least I know other pagan folk who aren't connected/networked to Beth or Nono. I could just aim my products at them mostly. Plus, I was thinking about taking the fragrant candle, incense and soap thing a bit further by developing a skin care line. Perhaps even crafting single-note soaps like lavender or honeysuckle or rose and what have you. They don't all have to be blends. I have an aromatherapy book I could use for making aromatherapy blends instead of deity blends.

^_^ I think there are a lot of options that wont have us really competing with each other or them.

Nono does make incense now, and perfume oils, but no soap.

I don't see a problem having the same customers as them either, I mean you never know. Their stores are almost identical. And there is a shit ton of pagan stuff on Etsy now.
Make what you really want to make though. It doesn't have to be pagan-specific.

One thing I'd really love to do is make jewelry that's fine-tuned to a person's natal chart. Each horoscope is unique and planetary placements might make for a good way to combine and harmonize planetary stone correspondences.

Thankee! I think I will. Smile
Maybe AstroSoaps too! The color will be sign harmonic. The fragrance will be planetary harmonic. Very Happy
