I just want to point out Sif is not as scary as she seems. She's complicated (who isn't?) but worth knowing.

Feel free to write your own experiences with her or your take on her. We haven't met anyone yet who works with Sif. It would be interesting to hear. Smile

She doesn't seem scary to me. Just deadly serious, but then, she IS the grain goddess, and look at what humans are doing to her!

I wonder how any of the Gods tolerate humanity, most especially the Vanic Powers as they're the primary farming/ecology Gods.

I would think Odin and Thor would have serious issues considering that Earth is wife and mother to Odin and Thor, respectively.

Yes, when I finally developed the ability to hear the gods-- it was neither easy nor quick -- Thor indicated to me that what he wanted from humanity was to stop poisoning the Earth.

I would certainly support that idea. And like you said in your blog (from Sif), to stop using Roundup.
Nerthus must be weeping daily.
Hopefully the pagan surge (or resurgence) and interest in the Vanir and similar powers will be a big shift, when so many of us seem powerless to stop those who are doing harm. So whether you follow Dionysus or Frey or Cernunnos or Whoever, I'm hoping that the more people the gods' touch, the more good we can do. Even those who follow Loki or Hermes can call bullshit on the climate change-deniers, and make efforts to support good causes even if it's not directly related to your god's "
domain."
Loki would want to see us protect the next generation, protect animals, have clean resources, etc. and live a good life with our families.
It's just a shame that we're not more like the Icelanders and the Hawaiians and others I can't think of at the moment, those who still believe in land-spirits and take care with their land.
Back on topic, it'd be great to see some Sif-followers speak out;
I mean we really need to get past the whole "
you're all Marvel fans"
crap and do some serious work together for the community and the world.

Thanks! Yes.

(I usually don't get dismissed as a Marvel-follower, since my book came out in 2001, plus, genre fiction is my actual job field so trying to dismiss me for being a geek would be like trying to dismiss an ironworker for being an ironworker.)

@erinlale What is your blog, anyway? I'm not sure if I'm following it (if it's on WP or Tumblr).

As far as recycling and being "
green"
go, Loki once told me that a lot of effort went into making this place (meaning Earth) and that it'd be nice if more people appreciated that and took better care of it. I was already recycling and watching the products I used, but He got me to be more mindful of it. Smile

I've been into the animal rights and eco movements since middle school, so yeah I've been doing it before it was "
cool."

Sif introduced herself to me this morning~ Very Happy She seemed happy that I guessed who she was. Any suggestions for offerings? (I'll ask her [or Loki, since he can do the "spelling thing" and idk if Sif can] later, too.)

I've heard that Sif enjoys an offering of beer, like her husband Thor.
