Either one, depending on mood/time of day/what Loki is poking at me for* :p

*he'll usually poke if he wants coffee, but I don't think he's ever poked at me for tea, although he's indicated he does like certain kinds, so if he does poke I make coffee and if he doesn't I'll make either coffee or tea if I'm in the mood for either.

I have to have coffee in the am. When the mood strikes me I have loose leaf Earl Gray which I drink with a shot of Vanilla flavoring for an Earl Gray de la Creme.

Also love me some pepsi!

I don't even like the way coffee smells, so tea all the way. Southern sweet ice tea, of course. Actually I drink more herbal teas than anything.

You should try real, honest to goodness loose leaf Earl Gray tea. Or Earl Gray de la Creme. I used to get those from Special Teas but they sold out to Teavanna, who charges twice as much. It's still reasonable, I just don't think Special Teas realized what a good thing they had. They could have been charging twice as much and people would still have been willing to pay. Or perhaps they just weren't greedy so they folded as a business.

Tea, tea, tea... A few years back, I was trying to convince my brother to help me open a tea room. Alice in Wonderland theme. It was all planned out in my mind-- had the perfect location, name, menu, decor, etc. Only problem was no money to start it up. Sad

Oooh that would be so cute. Especially if you had a giant Cheshire cat hanging in a tree branch or something overhead.
And yeah, I keep meaning to buy some of Captain Picard's tea. "
Earl Grey, hot."
lol

I bought a box of Earl Grey once just to try it. I still don't know what "
bergamot*"
is but apparently I do not like it.

*and is it berga-moT or berga-moh?

Berga-mot.
It's a type of orange but yellowish-colored, grown mostly in Italy. Bergamot essential oil is very nice.
Not to be confused with the herb called Monarda, which is sometimes called bergamot or wild bergamot.

I've recently gotten into a tea kick. Chamomile, rose, spearmint, and lemongrass with honey and a splash of cream... Smile

Re: Tea or coffee?

Post by Corannhena on Sat Mar 28, 2015 12:44 pm

For the past three or four years during the month of my birthday I get a promotional code from for $10 off $20 or more when I buy stuff from their website, and I finally had the chance to use it earlier (it expires at the end of the month so I didn't have much time left, but I'd been low on $ until a day or so ago :/ ). I'd already been planning on getting the Morning Cuppa 30-ct sampler (English Breakfast, Earl Grey--I don't care for it but I'll tolerate it--and Super Irish Breakfast, which is actually probably my very favorite) and the Spice of Life 30-ct sampler (Spice Dragon Red Chai, Orange Spice, and Double Spice Chai) for myself, and I asked Loki if he wanted any particular flavors. I don't think he saw me look at (but not buy yet) the Spice of Life sampler as he requested some Double Spice Chai, but I told him it was in the sampler so he indicated he didn't want a separate order of it. Went through about five more pages before asking if there was anything else he wanted and he said no :p I did see some (organic) Lavender Tulsi and (non-organic) Jasmine Blossom teas that I asked if Sigyn might like, which got an enthusiastic yes for each one, so I got those two for her, and asked if she wanted any other flavors, which got another yes. I went through a few pages of basically 'no, nothing on here' before deciding to just look in the Floral section under Flavors :p She indicated she also wanted some loose-leaf Rosebud Black tea as well, so I got 50 grams of that. She indicated she didn't want any other flavors, so that's all I got (it came to around $18 after promo code and with shipping, which really isn't bad for about three or four months' worth of tea, or 88 bags total plus the loose leaf if I'm doing my math right).

You know, Earl Gray actually tastes REALLY good when it has just a tad of vanilla in it. Not baking vanilla, but that vanilla syrup you can get for coffees? Or the small, purse sized flavorers you get in the coffee section. Only a few drops though. Very very little. I bet Loki would like that. He seemed to like it that way when I offered it up to him and drank some with him. It wasn't enthusiastic love but he liked it well enough.

You can go to starbucks or make your own matcha coffee/matcha espresso. I'll warn you though unless you like bitter/sweet stuff matcha coffee is an acquired taste. But it's so worth it. Especially if you eat/take some iron along with it. I mean you can literally turn into the Energizer Bunny.
