" History’s Mysteries: Urnes Snakes Edition"

Post by Darkamber on Mon Feb 16, 2015 8:12 am

"
If you have been in contact with the Lokean community for more than a few weeks, you have probably already seen the Urnes Snakes symbol in some shape or form. It comes in several varieties (most of which, unsurprisingly, originated from mass-marketed “Viking” jewelry) and even appeared in the deceased Lokean meme.
But what exactly is this symbol? Where did it originate? And most importantly, why do so many Loki devotees use it to signify our God or community?"
